Default new turbo and oil, psi question

Just installed a Borg 200sx fmw and went from 10-30 to rotella 5-40. With my SC setup my idle oil pressure was 18ish... now with the turbo and 5-40 its at 31psi. This ok? Just bleeding coolant and have not driven the car.

Did you change anything with the sending unit? Could be that the SC had worn seals and was causing some pressure loss. There is a thread on here about oil pressure, cold start will be way higher than idle after engine warms up to operating temps.

I wonder if my plx gauge is right as my oil pressure is 4-9 psi with oil temps around 230f below 200f 15-18 psi cruising at 3000rpm 55-60psi at 220-230f and 65-70psi below 200f I hope this is ok. I have heard the plx reads low

80-90+ at start up and 30-35psi at warm idle is normal. My friends stock s2000 sometimes reads 99psi (maxed) when he starts it when cold.

sounds like good pressure to me. thats where it should be without driving. after u drive and get her all hot, your oil psi will be between 10-20 psi at idle.

Glad you got her up and running!!!

Seems like ur able to get a estimate on the temp from just reading the oil pressure. Is this true? What would the oil pressure be if the car is 240+ degrees ?
