Default AP1 Comptech Kit on a DBW AP2 - compress fuel regulator?

Finishing the install of my supercharger on my 2006 S2000, one of the final things they ask you to do on the AP2 instructions (provided by Nate with CT Engineering) it asks you to "compress" the fuel regulator in a bench vice, it appears the regulator is part of the fuel pump on the DBW AP2's.

My question is if this is needed? I don't have a bench vice, and hadn't heard of this in other AP1 to AP2 install threads. Anyone done this before? Is this the same process described in the SOS and Vortech superchargers installs? I've attached a picture of the instructions.

TTT any AP2 06+ guys have any suggestions? If it makes a difference I'm running ID 1000cc injectors, tuned with FlashPro.

You can see my build thread here:

I actually have the same question, as I'll be going down this same path in the next few months. Science of Speed just released an aftermarket FPR that replaces the stock one (and probably accomplishes the same thing as the "crushed" one).

It may be worth giving them a call and asking about it.

I'm aiming for 9psi, this seems to pally more towards people looking at going 10+. Unless I hear otherwise I'm going to leave things as is and ask my tuner to keep an eye on things see if it's needed. I did find the Vortech instructions, and they never mention any such modification. Does anyone have a copy of the SOS supercharger install in PDF format for the 06+?
