Default Newbie turbo questions

im sorry i have searched and i have not found what im looking for i want to turbocharge the S2000 but i have a few questions. If you dont wanna give me an answer could you at least point me in the right direction?

How much hp can a stock block hold before stuff starts breaking?
I really want to keep 9k rpm but when you turbo what do you rev out at?
At what RPM is a GT35R spooled up (looking to track dont want alot of lag)?

thanks guys!

Its been debated allot on here about how much the stock engine can handle, but to be safe 550whp its been taken to 701whp by a guy on here and i think he said he drove his all the time so 550 is just a number i through out there so you could probley do more. 9K is just fine thats what most people run on a Ap1 that is if not more with aftermarket springs and retainers. 35R turbo's seem to be fully spooled around 5000-5500rpm you might be better off with something like the 30R or precision 5857 for the track or in that range depending on how much power you want.

Well I think everyones answer to the first question is that it solely depends on the tune. At the same time, 12psi on a 50 trim isnt gonna put out as much power as 12psi on a 42R so you also have to take into consideration how aggressive the setup is and how much $ is spent. As far as the rev limiter goes, I always shifted a little early when I COULD simply because a boosted setup will rev fast as hell in 1st and 2nd and you dont wanna bend a valve. If you wanna turn 9-9.5 throw some springs and retainers in it and you should have no worries as long as you are careful. Again depending on your tune, a 35R can spool somewhere in the range of under 5k rpms. Someone with a stroker is going to have faster spool for obvious reasons, but on completely stock motor I believe it would be around 4800? You could maybe look into other guys' build threads and see what their spool was at
