This is probably a dumb question but I've never messed with spray before, does the zex kit only spray at WOT?

Just wondering how it is actually activated.

Thanks!
Lee
from what ive found the kit comes with a WOT switch which only allows for release when you are at WOT. im sure this could be manipulated so you can release at different throttle positions, but thres not really any point in running the juice if your going to use it at less than WOT as you can just open the throttle more.

ok last couple of questions before i go ahead with the order.

heres what ive got so far:
Zex #82030 Nitrous Kit $739.00
Zex #82010 Purge Kit $89.00
Zex #82009 Bottle Opener $189.00
Zex #82085 Window Switch $139.00

Now on top of this, im thinking
extra bottle
pressure gauge?

does the pressure gauge tell you when the bottle is emptying? or do you guys just run it till its empty?

do you also think there is a need for a safety blow down? if i have 2 bottles will i need 2? or just have one for the bottle which is connected?

thanks,

John

i just got a steal of a deal on a zex wet kit (non direct port) from a friend today, i got the full kit, a purge kit and bottle warmer for 500 dollars. im fairly a noob to the nitrous game, but i do know a little bit. ive got a few questions however:

what exactly is the "window switch"?

i plan on running a 75 shot, but what should i tune with? i know a lot of people dont use anything, but ive had very good luck (knock on wood) with my s2k seeing as its a very reliable car, and dont wanna ruin that cause my last car set me back pretty hard a lot.
could i just use a vafc and tune the AFR's? ive already got a wideband cause i had a full inlinepro turbo kit which i was gonna use, and i already sold my aem ems. so what do you more knowledge nitrous guys say about vafc on nitrous? any and all advice is welcome!

the window switch allows you to program on and off rpm ranges for nitrous injection. so even when at WOT, you can set it so it only comes on after 2nd gear in between 5000-8500rpms for example.

i guess it negates the need for a button that you actually press to start the juice.

im still unsure on what to do in terms of tuning. the kit recommends you retard timing, adn i dont think the vafc is able to do that (i believe it only adjusts afrs). however that brings up the question of having different maps. and atm i dotn know any any ecu's/piggybacks which are able to let you run different maps on the s2k.

i was planning on running mine on a 50shot starting and leaving it with stock management. then when ive found a more suitable ecu ill up the pressure.

yeah, i see a lot of recommendations for AFR's on nitrous which is why i asked about the vafc. and on vafc you can have 2 maps saved if i remember right, so that would be perfect, one for motor, one for juice.

so if im planning on running no more than a 75 shot direct port. would i need any other engine management apart from a VAFC? i plan on starting out with a 50 shot initially

if i do need other management, what other ways are there to retard timing without going AEM?

just placed an order for my kit, ended up getting the following with prices for those looking to buy as well

ZEX 4CYL DIRECT PORT NITROUS SYSTEM 50-200HP 739.00

ZEX NITROUS TRACTION CONTROL WINDOW SWITCH 139

For a 75 shot or less, the OEM ECU will take car of all the stuff. Anything over a 75 shot, you are going to need a ECU that can retard timing and you need to tune it.

The window switch is great. I used to have one, and I set it at 4500 till 7700 RPM.

Have a knowledgeable installer install your kit and be safe.

Get colder plugs.

haha thanks man, yea i did it myself, my car was actually my most recent install, I've installed in a cobalt, civic, accord, 350z, M3, eclipse, and mustang before my S2K. So you really learn what works best and what looks the neatest after you do a few. For 06 and up the only real difference is the drive by wire, but that does not affect the nitrous.

If you guys are interested in a couple of pics of my install just let me know maybe ill post them later,

Juiced.
