Nitrous thoughts and questions.
Yea, this may have been coverd.
I have been reading up on FI and it seems lots of folks frown on nitrous. Its seems to me FI Is FI. The only time I wish the s had more hp is straight line pulls. I like the fact that I can close bottle and I am stock and reliable. Also, no heat generated by nitrous. The other sell point is the expence of the setup is cheap and resale is good. Seems I can put a 6k Turbine setup on car and my car is worth the same or less and I would be lucky to get half my money back during resale of the kit. I would not put any form of FI on my s without a ems. The cheap turbines are junk and I would not waste money. So I see turbine setup around 5 to 6k With the ems a bit more. This kinda cash I should just save for another car.
So my opinion has changed on nitrous. Cheap and I can make it hidden and go away fast when I want to put car back to stock.
Only down side is filling empty bottle.
Only time I would use it and open bottle would be limited. Another sell point I want to be able to shut it off. Turbine is on all the time making power and heat.
What size bottle can I fit in the area the spare tire goes?
I'm gonna build this slow and use parts no kit.
Oh yea just keeping it at an extra 100 hp. Not going to tap intake. Using stock airbox. The system I want will be hidden. Fogger will go in from underside. All switches and solenoids hidden.
After more research I may have a problem filling the tanks in orange county Ca. Shame this seems most logical choice for me to get an extra 100 hp. Ehh
Any pics or ideas welcome.

You can fit a 10lb bottle in the spare tire spot nicely, I had a shop here water jet a couple Thick aluminum plates in the shape of the stock jack cover and I bolted my nitrous tank to it and it looks good, I posted a pic below, also no matter what you do I would suggest buying a progressive nitrous controller they are very nice to have, to manage power, to prevent back fires and keep tire spinning under control when power comes on.
You made some good points OP but FI has its pros as well as cons as does nitrous. I found myself filling the bottle much more than I had anticipated before installing my setup. Obviously depends on how you drive but over time it definitely adds up.
I'm interested in hearing some opinions from those running nitrous as well. My wife drives the S now, so a turbo is out of the question without first getting her a car to drive. My car also sees the track once or twice a year so I'd rather not have the turbo on it then for heat reasons. Nitrous seems like it would be a nice compromise. Put the bottle in when I want to go have some fun and take it out any other time. I haven't really looked into pricing, but under $1000 should be doable. Most nice exhausts for this car cost at least that much and do very little for power.
Thanks for replys.
More questions:
Is it ok to mount bottle horizontal? Most mounts I see the bottle is at 45° To keep liquid at bottom correct.
Can a AEM ems be a stand alone control to the relay that powers on and off the fuel/n02 solenoids? Or will I need WOT switch and/or a seperate control box? Is the control box just a relay?
Will there be a problem mounting the fogger on the underside of the stock intake tube? So fogger will be upside down comming in from bottom so it is hidden. Tube is soft rubber I may have to make custom tap on tube.
Thanks!
