Default Whats better for daily driver Reliability

Exactly in the description.. Im going to be picking up a InlinePro Street kit.. Not looking to squeeze every HP out of it because i want it to be more reliable then anything. I had a very bad experiance with AEM EMS.. I had the 30-1012 which i will never buy again. Hours to get it tuned.. It took for ever to start . Frequent visits to get the tune "touched up".. couldnt keep idle when the car was cold.. and randomly would stall in the middle of driving.. I sold it.. returned car to stock and am very happy reliability wise.. But the car stock is just not enough power..

I do not want to get a SC because all the power is in the top end and the roots Kit is just out of my price range where id rather just have a turbo..

So i plan on getting a used InlinePro street kit which obviously will not work with the stock ecu..

So the big Question What to tune with.. AEM EMS 30-1052 Or Hondata K-Pro

I have a AP1 if that matters.

Like i said i dont want to get every inch of power out of the car where it makes cruising around town a nightmare while in the lower RPM's. Looking for the best daily driving unit.

And if someone can reccomend someone i get it tuned by.. I live on Long Island .. but would drive to NJ, PA etc. for a tuner who REALLY Knows what they are doing

I have very little experience in the forced induction area so any bit of information would really help even if you think its common knowledge.

Thanks In Advance

John

all the tuners i know that tune hondas say that hondata is the best way to go...so kpro would be a good choice but that is if you want to spend the extra money and do the extra work to install the parts to convert some of the electronics to ap2(isnt that hard just need the right tools)...i am not sure about the ems, i have never had any experience with the ems...talk to dsddcd on here...he is a friend of mine who has some good knowledge about the ems...he has the same inline pro kit that i do and he actually has done some of the tuning on his ems himself...and i think there are some fixes you have to get for the ems to make the gauges work properly...if you need any other info just send me a pm...

i would much rather go with Kpro since i hate AEM.. their cold start problems are ridiculous... i dont mind spending extra money if its going to be done the right way.. I have not searched yet into this about kpro but i assume from your post they dont work on AP1's without some AP2 Parts? What is that all about?

i am not sure exactly why but i believe it has something to do with the ecu...here is a list directly from the hondata website about what you need to switch from the ap1 to ap2 parts:

The following items must be replaced before the S2000 K-Pro can be used. These parts are not supplied by Hondata and should be purchased from a Honda dealer.

Crank sensor 37500-PZX-003
Crank wheel 13622-PCX-013
TDC sensor 37510-PZX-003
TDC wheel 14112-PCX-003
Valve cover 12310-PCX-020
Drain plug washer (for PCV valve) 94109-14000
PCV valve 17130-PCX-003
IAT sensor 37880-P05-A00 (not required, but stock IAT will read about 30 degrees hotter)

The approximate cost of these parts is $300-375.

ive done the install and it isnt that hard to do...the hardest part is getting to the tdc sensor wheel on the exhaust cam...but other than that it is easy and straight forward...

yeah fortunately i got a good deal on the parts at the time i did the install since i was a tech at a honda dealership...and if you have any other questions about the kpro hondata is now a sponsor of the s2ki engine management section...also you can contact church automotive, mase engineering, t1 race, or evans tuning and i am sure any of them will be more than happy to help you...

The Hondata website confused me even more... Do i have to buy an RSX ECU for the Hondata to piggy back.. Or is the Hondata K Pro A standalone unit for RSX's that can be used in an s2000 when you buy that list of parts.. Which are actually OEM RSX sensors

no you do not need an rsx ecu to piggyback to...that is only for the dbw cars that want kpro...it is an rsx ecu that is stand alone...the ecu can be used in 04-05 ap2's without any modifications but for ap1's you need that list of parts...and unfortunately unless hondata recently changed something the oem rsx o2 sensor does not work on the ap1's since they have a different set up with the o2 sensors(from my understanding)...
