Most know about this. And if you have a $6000-10,000 budget, it's a nice option.

I think the OP is looking to make the oem pieces stronger.

The supra v160 transmission is great and all if you have $8 000-$10,000 for that conversion

The problem with out cars is that once your over 600whp or so your at the limit at when the stock grand can take. So you either spend the 8-10k on a supra transmission conversion or spend about the same amount for ppg gears for the stock transmission. Or just keep on buying and swapping out stock transmissions when they blow. There are no other options that I know of.

But the op should not being having this problem becuase he has a low power super charger setup.

Ap2 have beter syncro and the case have reinforcement in the bellhoosing where the bearing are this is the weak spot

The shaft just pull appart we talking less than .5mm flex is all it take to stip a gear

If someone Can put a brace to hold the input shaft to the secondary shaft the failure rate will be less

The only reason those hold more power is because fwd stuff spins way more than rwd stuff, so less stress. I've also had a buddy go through 4 stock b series trans in the last year in his 10 sec eg hatch so they arent that great.

S2ks on drag radials have the potential to pull 1.6s-1.5s 60ft, that is going to kill any stock Honda trans over time

lots of good info my suggestion is a less aggressive clutch the shock load causes deflection and the cast gears turn to powdered bits in a hurry. I am running an ap2 trans and its a huge improvement over an early ap1 trans. I have a good working ap1 that I have thought about experimenting with too bad no one makes billet gears maybe polishing any risers on the case maybe welding some bracing in strategic places. I am putting down 240ft torque and trans is holding fine. I have built the diff and the car has a comp stage2 clutch with light weight flywheel. I too am a Honda tech so I have no doubt you did it right I would try the sos clutch I have heard too many horror stories about competition clutches I will be switching my clutch in the next year or so before it dies as the springs are already rattling I want to try a single disk carbon clutch so the driveline will continue to take the abuse I all try to shift as smooth as possible. the wife paid me a nice complement on the last group drive when we where powering out of corners and I was shifting at red line that it felt like the car was an automatic good luck to you

The Gsr transmission has wider gears than the s2k and the k series cars . They can take a good amount of abuse . I currently am running over 660whp with mine but it breaks from time to time .
