Default OFFICIAL FI VENT THREAD

I hate this if it isn't one thing its another. I have been let down by every major company. Its hard to spend so mutch on a car and keep running into different problems. What do you do when you reach a point where you can no longer justify the work that has been done to your car. I am 3 engine in and soooo many problems later. This tread is dedicated to the headache of fi'n a car. Let me hear your horror stories.

On a brighter note i did get 411hp @302 ftlb of tq on pump gas. I am at full boost at 4,700 rpm. The ride was nice for the 7 hours it lasted.

I hate the fact that there aren't any "Carb legal" turbo kits out.

Oh well, I guess once every two years is worth it. Having a hookup helps too.

My turbo bitches and complaints:

1. Always being broke

2. Always having something break

3. Dealing with the vicious cycle of 1 & 2

4. No matter what you do, there's always somebody that has more power, better times, more reliably than you- with the same setup... or less.

5. The hard reality that there is no such thing as an "All inclusive, nothing else to buy" turbo kit.

6. Crack doesn't hold a candle to the addictive power of Forced Induction

Cut your losses......

Nick.....I've only met you one time and I remember it was a LONG time ago... back then you were so excited about the possibility of having a 700+ S....

Not knowing the whole story.....I'd say...let it go mang.... be happy with the S2000.... If you want crazy horsepower....get something else...

Sometimes Less is MORE!... What ever you decide to do....the crew in SD support you... and hopefully better luck in the near future..

Gotta be honest with you, the problem is not the car. It's the insatiable desire for more. If you push and push eventually it's going to break.

I've been warned over and over again that I am due for imminent disaster but I take baby steps, don't exceed the bleeding edge and so far have had nothing but successes. Sure I'm only doing about 360hp but I am doing it all day everyday and loving it.

When I read the 'What's the cheapest good turbo kit' I remember the secret passphrase from Top Secret. "Do you know any good white basketball players?". "There are no good white basketball players."

Tonight was the ultimate in my FI anger. After over a month of BS with a "simple bolt on" Comptech S/C I took out the tools and started pulling it off. I had my new ecu installed and the car finally idled like it used to back in the N/A days. I didnt' get a single CEL and my list of problems seemed to be dwindling down. That was until I decided to go get gas and 2 seconds out of my driveway that bastard CEL light came on. I pulled it right back in and took out the wrenches. About 20 minutes later I just sat back and wanted to cry.

Seriously, this car was so nice in the beginning and then slowly but surely it just started to feel slow. I felt the need to go faster and purchased the worst mistake of my automotive life. No one in this area has answers and no one really wants to work on it. All I want is my damn car to run reliably again. I want to be able to put it to the floor and rev freely to redline. I want to at least be able to flip the key and not have to hold the damn start button for over a second to get it to kick over. I hate comptech and I hate my car tonight. Tomorrow I think I'm going to just leave the S/C belt off and put the old FPR back on. Eventually I'll drive the car to someone who can actually fix it.
