Default Oil Cooler help needed (mocal sandwich)

I was wondering if anyone had a spare oem oil cooler bolt laying around that they could measure for me.

I need to know the diameter of the bolt between the head and the tapered part. Basically the biggest part of the bolt besides the hex head / washer.

Or....if anyone has used the mocal sandwich adapter with the oem bolt (discarding the oem cooler), that would pretty much answer my question too.

The inner diameter of the mocal adapter is right around 25mm.

And here is a pic of the bolt....just need a measurement right above the taper.

Appreciate any help, thanks!

Thanks for the reply....looks like good news. Might have to make something to keep it centered like a dowel.

Just to update, I went ahead and tried to mock up the oem bolt/stud with the mocal adapter. It actually is a nice fit into the sandwich plate, but the ~37mm mating surface of the bolt was just too big for the mating surface of the mocal adapter.

I will just order the filter stud made for no oem cooler.

Why not just purchase the bolt that fits with the sandwich adapter?

There are a couple ways you can install it. One keeping the oem cooler, and using the supplied 20 x 1.5 adapter bolt. Or, remove the oem cooler and install the shorter oil filter stud, then use supplied adapter bolt.

I'll use the adapter bolt either way, I just wan't to remove the oem cooler.

The mocal sandwich adapter you bought comes with the built in thermostat at 180 degrees right? Why not just replace it with the stock cooler that is what most people do and then add a second plate for an oil pressure/temp tap.

I am replacing the stock cooler with this. But you still can't really use the oem filter bolt/stud (at least I don't think I could). I don't feel like stacking plates and I will just get oil pressure at the oem dummy switch. Oil temp I can just weld into the pan or tap the pan.

They sell the mocals with either a 180 or a 200 degree thermostat. I got the 200 thermostat and tested it in water. It fully closed the bypass passageway at 205 degrees.
