Default Oil pressure sensor?

Alright. I have just installed my new oil pressure sender into the brass T fitting I have coming out of the stock pressure sender hole. On one end of the T is the oil line for the turbo, and it was the dummy sender to the dash which I just replaced for the autometer version.
My questions. I haven't hooked up the sender to the vehicle yet but is it possible to use the stock sender wire and intercept it inside the car instead of running a fresh wire?
My other question is I simply disconnected the stock dummy sender and there isn't an oil light coming on in the car?? Is this a normal situation or should the light be on now considering it isn't getting any pressure.??

No because that sensor completes the circuit for a ground wire.

SO the oil light in the car shouldn't be on with it disconnected?
I am still on the emanage. For now anyway.
How easy is it to remove the wire from the harnes, and up throught the plug wires or does everyone just leave it be and snip it clean?

what type of threads was your t fitting? - hope it was not one from lowes or home depot - wrong thread & pitch - i would leave the stock
dummy light and t it again for sending unit for after maket sensor.

My fittings are fine. They have been on the car for over a year.
