Default Oil Pressure / temp Sender Installation

Good Morning group,

I am debating whether to use a sandwich adapter or try to tap into the current port for the oil pressure idiot light sensor to add two addtional sensors for oil temp and pressure.

My senders are small and I think I can fit them using a t adapter and retain the stock idiot light sensor but I am worried about the temp sensor picking up to much heat from the surrounding block. There also wont be any real flow for the temperature sensor so I am concerned about its accuracy.

Has anyone done this way before?

I can go with the sandwich adapter method but I don't prefer that method as the sendor assemblies will be exposed to damage every time I get the oil changed.

thougths?

I added oil pressure and temperature last spring and used the sandwhich plate. Honestly i love it. I conteplated doing exactly what you are but in the end the sandwhich plate was for me, both gauges work wonderfully and if anything it makes the oil changes easier since the oil filter is farther away from the block. Go the sandwhich route you will be glad you did.
