i'd say get at least 10w30. The shop that built my turbo said no 0w something since low viscosity oils won't provide as much pressure and it'll be better forthe thrust bearing and collar in the long run to use higher viscosity. Definitely synthetic. I'm planning to run 10w30 winter and maybe a lil higher summer. Road rage said Mobil 1 10w30 is actually a lil thinner than what it says so probably Syntec, Motul, or Royal Purple will work better.

I think here in Puerto Rico there's no store that sell Royal Purple oil. So when I went to the store I bought Mobil 1 10W 30. Haven't run the car yet because we are making sure that there's no leak so we can start the tunning process. But anyway Thanks for the help. I seem U are the only one who log on to this site to help. It seems people have forgot the REAL purpose of a forum.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

THANKS!!!!!!!!

Relax, people are busy and you asked a very specific question.

Anyway, I originally had Amsoil 10W-30 when I was NA but the change intervals required for FI had me going towards the cheaper Mobile1. Still stuck with the 10W-30. However, Cody is using something completely different. Check the oil pressure thread. There is also a small discussion on oils used.

You can get Royal Purple on ebay for like $5-6 a quart. Amsoil is also another very good option. The reasons why I don't want to continue using Mobil 1 are: 1. Our engines eat em up 2. It's a lil thinner than specified according to Road Rage

Btw in the last 5000 miles (I don't have turbo yet) my engine has eaten up 1 1/2 quart of Mobil 1, and it has never eaten oil like that before. There are several threads on there about the oil consumption issue with Mobil 1 in our engines.

I tried different oils and came to this conclusion:

Mobil 1 < Redline < Amsoil < Helix

I am SC but the idea is still the same. I used redline 5w40 for long time but now have gone with Motul 300v full synthetic 5w40. I have no complaints thus far.
