Default PCV Question

Last year I pulled out m pcv and hogged it out, opening it up some.

I want to pull it, and order a fitting to screw into teh hole so I can run a decent hose into a can.

Does anyone know what size/thread pattern so I can pick one up?

It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

3/8 ?

That gives me something to go on, I'll stop at Home Depot and grab a couple 3/8ths bolts and see if they thread in, before I order anything.

Thanks!!

I used a 1/2 tap in the hole once I took the grommet out of the valve cover. I will go take a look right now and get back to you.

Does the AP2 valve cover have a threaded PCV fitting? On my AP1 cover I just used a 1/2" barbed elbow.

Yep sorry I was thinking about the ap1 valve cover, here are some pics for other people's reference:

Remove the valve cover from the head for this work if you would not like to get any shavings in the engine. I left mine on and used bearing grease on the tap to catch the shavings.

These are the things you will need:

1/2 NPT tap and 1/2 NPT elbow with barbed fitting.

Remove the pcv valve and the rubber grommet in the valve cover. Tap the valve cover with the 1/2 NPT tap.

I had to shave down the bottom side of the barbs so that when I threaded the fitting in it did not hit the top of the valve cover itself before becoming tight. You can also use some type of thread locker or jb weld on the threads to hold it in place. I did not. Here is the completed assembly.

AP2 have a 3/8 threaded hole so this is only for AP1 valve covers.

Yea I was just going to say, my valve cover does not look like htat, the pcv which is the closest to the firewall on the drivers side comes out the side of the valve cover, not the top as pictured.

You can buy this:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-670491/

I run it, and it works perfect, no drilling tapping etc.
