Pfab ELT broken. :(
Hello everyone. So today I found out that my Pfab ELT is broken, after about 300 miles on my car. I bought this kit used from Ozzie. Someone posted it here for him. great guy, and help me alot with all the questions due to my first time with turbo. Kit on original owner 1500k and 300 on my car so total of 1800. this set up puts out great power. I was making 452 at about 11.9 psi. Only thing I don't like about the kit is vibration and everything is so close together. Vibration from turbo (precision 5857) cause the down pipe to hit the frame, and the dumptube to hit the down pipe causing it to rattles, and that's when bolt on my turbo manifold broke and nuts walking out, yes I do used nordlock washer. So my solution the the vibration is weld a bracket to the downpipe and bolt it to the block where the stock exhaust manifold bracket at. It stops the vibration but then my manifold broke. not sure if that bracket causing it, so that's my experience with PFab kit, anyone with PFab elt set up please share you experience, cause I would like to get the car running, and prevent it from broken again. Any advice is appreciated.
I'm going to go ahead and say all that vibration and the fact that you were hitting the frame certainly aided in this happening. If you could see it hitting when you weren't beating on the car, imagine how hard it was hitting that frame after a pull
at idle no vibration at all, only notice something hitting around 2500-3500 rpm under load, but higher will go away, driving me nuts cause i try to move things around a bit still not going away. Im seriously thinking about giving up on this kit and move on the sidewinder set up.
^ I have a friend that is doing that exact thing. Ditching the PFAB ELT and moving to a sidewinder.
Not that the PFAB kit is bad, and the fact that yours was hitting is definitely why it broke like that. Plenty of people use them and have had great sucess, but after finally seeing one in the flesh, there's not a chance in hell I'd want to run that kit AND be the one who works on it, way to cramped for my liking.

I love my Pfab elt kit. It's extremely easy to work on and doesn't feel cramped. I have mine with a recirculated downpipe so it may be a little easier to get everything in the right spot. My manifold cracked recently but it was due to my oem motor mount breaking in half after melting and the manifold banged against the frame rail. Not pangs fault at all.
I had a sidewinder setup once before and there was so much vibration in it it cracked 3 times and the waste gate was on the bottom and it was a bitch to put it all together.

there's absolutely NO way that flange would hit the rail unless:
A) your motor mount is broken or defective
B) your motor mount is broken or defective
the flange is not close to anything. the runners are though.
you have to jack up your motor on that side in order to install the manifold. did you do this? did you install the motor mount correctly afterwards?
