Maybe cause I run 93 it just runs better than 91? My car also idles kind of high cause of the larger injectors. I would not call it butter but its not bad at all, way better than when I had the e manage.

You should not need one for those HP goals. It also depends on the kit your gonna use.

i found no difference between a 3mm HG and stock HG. What i did find was an increase in fuel mileage by at least 3-4mpg. That is, going from 3mm headgasket back to stock HG.

I may have experienced something similar during part throttle around 2-5k rpms but it goes aways once the car is warmed up. Probably not what you are experiencing.
