Poor Drivablity with Thicker Head Gaskets

I may have experienced something similar during part throttle around 2-5k rpms but it goes aways once the car is warmed up. Probably not what you are experiencing.

I talked to Jeff Evans today and he suggested that I check all my grounds before I go any further.

I could not tell you if it gets better of worse with heat but I would guess that is in the tune.

When I ran the first round of testing when I originally installed the battery there was only a 0.01V difference between the battery posts and the end of the battery cable and ground, so I called it good.
I had not thought of the following tests before but the local member suggested that I run equal length and gauge wires I measured the distance between a ground of the front of the car and the negative post. This test yields very accurate results, which is a better test than just measuring the resistance in the lines. I started the car and measure the Voltage between the two points. What I found is that there was a 4mV difference between the two. Since this reading seemed very low but I had nothing to compare it against I tried the same test on my truck and wife’s car. Both created a 15mV difference and ground to engine on both were over 30mV where the S was only 15mV. I reran all three tests and with my new Fluke meter and got the same results.
Second, I measure the resistance on both the positive and the grounds. The positive cable had 1.5ohm resistance and the ground had 1.0ohm. In constrast, the 10 Feet of 20 guage wire I was using was 0.5ohm.
