Well guys I obviously know changed a carb legal kit will make it illegal, that I don't care about if it's illegal, I just don't want to get in trouble for it. haha

SO if I got a vortech kit and really modded it (pulley, headgasket, etc) is there anyway I could get away with it in california if I have to smog?

Being a company who is just beginning to look into the carb stuff, i can tell you there are certainly hardships to over come.

however, in the scheme of things, ive made over 400 whp on a stock exhaust and stock cat during testing. the big thing is, visually, the wastegate (on my turbo kit for instance) would have to be either internal or rerouted dump. also the blow off valve could not be vented, along with other various factors including obd2 compliance, etc.

can it be done? i think so, and is why im looking into it....

With enough money, anything can be done.

i agree, i think it can be done. In the end, you just need to pass a glorified smog test. So no atmospheric dumping of any air (exhaust or compressed), and emissions must come in under certain levels (a lot of this can be adjusted w/ tuning). Just imagine a vortech, comptech or greddy kit w/ a larger snail! As long as the tune is efficient enough, i think it can be done.

You may be able to get it to pass but once you swap the ECU to say an EMS all bets are off... Again... Legally.
