Default Problem with tial wastegate

I just got a new FullRace manifold and a new garrett Turbo gt35r. With this new setup I had to get the Tial44 v clamp waste gate that the Fullrace manifold will only support. cjb80 put it together but when i picked up the car and got home it was down hill from there. At 17psi I got 347rwh. Then The car started to boost spike. I raced it and shifted at 9,000 until 4rth gear it boosted at 24psi all on its own at 93 oct that is not safe at all. Engine is still good. We noticed that a few screws on top of the wastegate were loose and the actual waste gate had a loose clamp. The local shop tightened everything for me on the wastegate. CJB80 told me to turn off my boost controller and to run the car just on the waste gate spring alone, wich has a 1 bar spring. So I put 116oct fuel and ran it.. It boosted to 1.7 1/2 bar wich is 27 psi. So then I knew the problem was at the wastegate. I sent it off to Todd at FullRace because I purchased it there. Todd ran pressure through it and he said it was leaking everywhere. He is sending it to Tial to have it tested because he said it is rare to see that problem. Do you guys have any idea why such low horsepower #'s and why the waste gate keeps on coming apart. And yes my car is fully,,fully built..

The ENTIRE turbo system is dependant on pressure staying in the turbo manifold, at controlled intervals. If there is a leak, ie, through the wastegate when its not desireable, power will be down and usually creeping will occur.
I suspect some of this has to do with the manifold design and extremely long wastegate tube(if its the older manifold, havent seen the new design), which might be very prone to creeping.
All you can do is try another wastegate. If there are still problems, it points to the manifold being the culprit although there are other manifolds out there without any reported creeping problems.

Not so. I have the same manifold, turbo and wastegate and have no boost creep or any other problem for that matter (except traction )

I'm lending him my spare wastegate so we shall see.

I have to thank Fperra for his help in lending me his spare wastegate. Other people have pointed to the manifold design. I am bummed out that i have spent over 1,100.00 just to figure out what is causing this problem. It has been blamed on other parts and hoses and so on.. I'll keep you guys up to date.

I'm confused. Was the wastegate not the problem and now you suspect the manifold?

They couldn't pin point the problem because it is very,,very rare for a brand new wastegate to fail so badly, and they had me buy other new parts not to mention 60.00 an hour at 3 different shops. So they questioned the new manifold manifold because with my junky old one I made 412 at the wheels on 93 oct.

Very rare for a wastegate to go but I had mine on the car have a bur in with the spring so Tial better get it together.

Well i installed 2nd waste gate and it buried the boost needle just like first one did. The car runs good but when I accelerate to 7,000 or higher the boost goes up and fast well over 2 bar. I checked the hoses and even disconnected the boost controller hose and nothing. I am going to change all boost hoses and take apart waste gate to see if any damage..
