Well another though. The EMS has a bunch of settings for boost stuff. Could I set it to where if it does see boost creep it would shut off it hit a limiter or something?

Try a smaller spring + boost control on the EMS using a GM BCS + the fuel cut if overboost. That should keep the boost lower to start with, control the boost better once it spools, and cut fuel if the wastegate proves to be incapable of holding the desired boost level.

It's great to have a high power manifold, but you would think that part of the redesign would have been to eliminate boost creep... Personally, I like to set my boost level and have it stay there!

Oh, if all else fails, try this. Dump the wastegate to the atmosphere and add a cat after the downpipe. Cats aren't just legal, they can really help tame some severe boost creep. (I can't run my Monte without one now... too much boost + crappy fuel management = boom)

I have to rethink the plan to purchase that mani.
Just wait a few weeks. Cody is in development of one sick manifold for me. It should be the baddest on the market.

OK I JUST HAD A DISTURBING CONVERSATION WITH TODD AT FULLRACE,, HE SAID THAT IT IS NORMAL TO GET BOOST CREEP FROM A 12 POUND SPRING TO CREEP UP TO 18 POUNDS OR MORE. DEPENDING HOW MUCH GAS AND HOW LONG I STAY ON IT. I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT PROBLEM WITH MY OLD MANIFOLD. THIS MEANS THAT I RUN RACE GAS ALL THE TIME AND HE SAID YES IF I WANT TO GET ON IT.. I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS I NEVER THOUGHT I HAD TO RUN RACE GAS TO GET TO 17 PSI,,BUT BECAUSE OF BOOST HIGH BOOST CREEP I DON'T HAVE A STEADY BOOST.. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK..
I've have a 12psi spring in a 38mm tial and it creeps to 16psi in vtec too.
Just set your boost controller to 17psi or higher and you will have a steady boost.

Boost creep is a condition that happens when the wastegate cannot relsease enough pressure from the exhasut manifold to maintain a set boost pressure. How does the wastegate vent? Is it plumbed back into the downpipe or is it vented to the atomoshpere? Also where are you getting your boost referance for the wastegate from?

scorpion, if you were asking me then I think my problem is that the wastegate is too small and plumb back to the dump pipe. Everything else are connected correctly for ideal boost control. I may reinstall a larger gate if I want to run boost less than 16psi in the future.

I have the tial 44mm going straight into atmosphere. a few people have told me to get a 5 pound spring. I talked to cjb80 and he said I shouldn't get passed 1.3 bar,,which makes sence cause I shift at 9,000 rpm. The car is running good besides that it feels slow at 1.2 bar.. I need to finish my tunning. 347 at 17psi is unacceptable for this fully built custom kit.

Honda9krpm...yeah you could use a bit bigger gate or a vent to the atmosphere. One or both would help a bit with overboost.

Hobby....yeah 347 on 17psi is rather low. Sometimes there are other factors that you may not be seeing. Take for example an RX-8 owner I know. He bought a GReddy trubo for his car. He had it tuned and was only making 230hp. Not a bad number for that car, but another guy in the area had the same system, same exhaust, and was running less bosty and made 260hp. After a lot of looking and beating heads adgainst the wall and heavy drinking, he found out that the bottom of his exhaust manifold had a nice crack in it.

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that you have to really check and double check even triple check to make sure everything is working like it's supposed to. Good luck man

I talked to a shop in texas called t1. The guy said he would charge me 200 an hour to tune. I told him that is high considering that my car is 95% tunned. He said if my car is that low in power it will take more then an hour to tune.. I told him that the timing and fuel was off then he said that it takes more then that to loose 90 horsepower.
