if you guys can, i think you should go to a tuner and get maybe an hour of tuning just to see whats going on. and be on the lookout for detonation, im not sure about most of you but i didnt know what it sounded like till it happened. good luck guys, im switching to aem standalone so hopefully my problems will go away.

I swapped in 4 new spark plugs (Greddy ISO #8 ISO8) and it changed the way my car performs significantly. Before, I was getting bad sputtering at Vtect transition and just after 8500 rpm which made a sound like a blowtorch from my exhaust. That blowtorch sound is totally gone, but now I get rapid popping noises between 7 - 9k rpm accompanied with slight jerking and power loss. Both the power loss and the jerking are way less than they were with the stock plugs. The tuner at ptuning told me to gap the new plugs at .030 and thats what I did. I spoke to him on the phone today and he told me to try .028 next to see if I can get some more improvement.

Additionally, the car behaves perfectly when testing it before the underhood temps get really high. I did 7 30-100mph WOT runs on the highway in rapid succession and there was no sputtering, jerking or popping going on. I was astonished. Then I started to hear the whine of my walbro fuel pump which only becomes audible after the temps start to build, and the jerking and popping started.

Overall, the car feels faster, jerks less and is generally smoother with the new plugs. I still have a problem though but I'll get to the bottom of it when I take my car down to ptuning in a couple of weeks.

FI requires a smaller gap, so you should probably gap 30 for a starting point.

hmm misfiring problems i guess. I had the same problem turns out it was one of my coilpacks. I guess when i plugged in the emanage i shorted them or something. thats worth looking into if you know the spark plugs are good, ill go check my car and post what i have, they work great.

These fuel pumps are known to let you down at high output. Check your fuel pressure at speed. This would certainly account for the symptoms.

We end up using the same model pump.

Here was a link that I put my input into but I pasted my comments below: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...f=142&t=533659

"I think we should keep this thread going to see what everyone is experiencing after the install.

I just tuned an AP2 with the Greddy kit last week. Owner installed it with some help from some friends. It came in with test pipe and fujitsubo exhaust. With the Greddy supplied map, we did a pull and after vtec, boost would rise to 10psi. By 6500 I let off the throttle becaue of the boost increase and the audible knock. Knowing that Greddy designed this kit with the use of a cat, I told him to come back for a retune after he installed the cat.

He came back yesterday with the cat and the fujitsubo exhaust and the boost curve, though still climbing, wasn't climbing as bad. Still I was logging 9-11psi between 7k to redline. Off Greddy's stock map A/F ratios are conservative at around 11.8 to 11.5:1 ish but there was still some knock after 6k rpms.

Long story short, the only way could get this car to drive safely is to drop the a/f ratio down to the 11.3:1 to 11.0:1 from vtec to redline and pull another 5-10 degrees of timing throughout those rpms as well.

Anyone else with this kit on an F22C that's having similar issues? I'd really like to know.

Comments:
On our Dynapack 3000 this car made 280hp with 200tq. Back to back runs netted 260ish hp and 180ish tq."

The quality of the kit is great. We're moving to AEM EMS in a couple of weeks. I'll keep you guys posted on the outcome.
