Default Pros/Cons of running the CTSC WITHOUT the AC?

I'm thinking of buying a Comptech Supercharger, but am unsure if the aftercooler is worth the extra ~$1100 or so for my needs. I'm not looking for maximum power numbers... the 80-100whp bump would be plenty for me. I don't track my car (yet anyway) and am just looking for a nice and reliable extra kick in the a$$ as far as power is concerned. It can get hot during the summer where I live, but the spring-winter is pretty mild. My S2K is not my daily driver, and it rarely sees any stop and go traffic at all.

For those that are running their comptech supercharger without aftercooler, or know people who do... have you experienced any problems related to this set up, and/or wish you would have bought the aftercooler to go with it?

I figure at the very least, if it turns out I decide I really need the aftercooler, I can always buy it and add it later, right?

I had my car SC'd with CT for over a year w/o the AC, never have any issues. But since the AC kit came out, I got it, and it runs great as well.

Pro w/o AC would probably be: more money in pocket, less boost lost.

Con's: On a really hot day, if you were to be stuck in traffic, you will notice power loss sooner and faster compare to if you had the AC installed.

If the only major con is bogging and/or power loss on really hot days or while stuck in traffic, then I don't see the AC being absolutely necessary for my needs.

But then again, I'd imagine more kits are sold with AC than without... so maybe there are other benefits that I'm not thinking of?

If you were to up the boost some day, then it would be a good idea if you had an AC. But I'm just going by what you said in the OP, so you probably will not notice/benefit from any other pro's.

I know some ppl like the BOV's, so having the AC will give you the mounting for it.. but you could always do it w/o the AC.

Anyone else running non-aftercooled want to chime in? Just looking for a diversity of opinion. I guess the bottom line question, is whether it's worth it?
