just curious.. If one were to get a tank of gas that was not up to spec & it blew your motor, could you sue the station for cost of your motor? Assuming you saved the receipt & had the gas in your tank analyzed.

I know people have done it, but usually you read about a tank that was half water or something. There was that incident a year or 2 ago where 20+ cars in a row were all broken down on the NJ Tpke after getting bad gas at a Lukoil station.

just have your tuner set-up a really good knock detection, a you will know right away if you got 87, the car will pull all sorts of timing and DUMP tons of fuel to the point where the car would fall on its face and sputter WOT

thats what I did

Listen, this is America, you can sue anyone for anything. Technically, yes, you can sue.

However, it would be a hard case to win.

IMO get tuned on the crappiest gas you think you'll possibly get. But thats just me thinking like an idiot.

My car has seen nothing but Racetrak 93 since I owned it and I've never had an issue. This whole thing about bad gas is or using the 'best gas' doesn't bother me at all since my car is tuned nowhere near the limit of detonation

Kpro doesn't pull timing so I can't do about it anyway lol

Especially on a modded Honda S2000, it would be a hard case to win. Which is what scares me. One bad tank of gas and there goes $12,000 out the window and that is just on the turbo stuff.
