Default Question about boost gauge

Hey guys

I've searched and couldn't find what I was looking for. I purchased a mechanical boost gauge, what I need to know is, should I return it for an electrical boost gauge?

I didn't pay attention when I bought it and I didn't know there was a difference.

I know now the mechanical will t off from the intake manifold, and that I will need to run the tube through the fire wall.

I've heard the electrical comes with it's own map sensor? So if you get this what happens to the stock map sensor?

Is one better than the other? Thanks!!

So with the electric, does the map sensor actually go on the manifold where the existing one is, or is it t'd off a line the same way? thanks for the input so far.

Not quite sure what you are asking for.

If it is something like this, you tee of the manifold.

And then you could get a AEM serial gauge which reads off the map sensor through the ECU.

You do not remove the map sensor. And if you insist on removing the stock map sensor, you can get any MAP sensor, but you are just making it harder than it is.

The boost gauge will not interfere with the map sensor...I have an electrical one and you have to run a vacuum/boost line (rubber tubing) to the sensor and then the wires from the sensor go to the gauge...pretty simple stuff.
