Default Question Advice Regarding E-manage tune

Hey everyone about to install my used Greddy kit soon now I was wondering if I should use the basemap or the tune thats currently on my emanage. I say this because I spoke to the previous owner who owned the greddy kit before and he has almost identical modifications. Such as...

Me > Previous Owner
Dual Espelir JGT500 Exhaust cut out resonators > Dual Fujitsubo Exhaust
Test Pipe > Test Pipe
AP1 > AP1
Blox 68mm Throttle body > Stock Throttle body
Deatchwerks 255 Fuel Pump > Walbro 255 fuel pump
1 step colder spark plugs > unsure from the previous owner
* Will be using the stock greddy manifold that came with the kit as well

Now I plan to get it tuned for my own car but maybe a month or two down the line. Car won't be driven as I am only getting a day permit for the install and a day permit to bring it home, then a couple of months later when its spring/summer drive it to get it tuned. Just wondering if it would be okay to use his tune or just download the basemap and load/use that instead. Just wanting everyones thoughts on what would be best/safer. Kit also has a Greddy BOV which I plan to keep on, not sure if it needs a tune for that, as to my knowledge the kit doesnt originally come with one. Im leaning more on just using the basemap that comes with the kit, thoughts?

Hello OP,

Using the base map isn't a bad idea. Just dont rely on it too long. Since your upgrading your fuel system. You need to the the Emanage to make the fuel corrections. If not, you'll run rich and foul out your plugs. IF anything. Since your mods are some what similar. I would say to use his old map. Make sure the fuel he used is close to what you'll be using.

I have to disagree, no two cars are alike same mods or not.

I wouldn't risk running a map that was tuned on his specific car. Run the base map until you get your car tuned.

This is probably a dumb question but it is okay to use the basemap with the bov installed? Id also probably have to run the cat instead of the test pipe as well if I choose to run the basemap?

Feb 4 2015 -
* confirmed and emailed Greddy. Basemap should be fine to run with the bov

the BOV shouldn't have a huge impact on performance or tune choice unless you have a plastic or knock off one that leaks..

not sure about the cat. the if the base tune assumes stock cat then yes, but most FI people run test pipe for obvious reasons.

a day to install a turbo kit is not alot of time if you run into some problems.. and its not wise to assume it will go on with out a hitch.

Thanks deception, plan to just insure it for the day, and leave it there until it's done and then insure it again when I pick it up.
