Default Question for Comptech owners

Hello,

I am planning to install a Comptech SC soon. I have a spoon snorkel now and a spoon filter in the OEM air box. In order to fit the spoon snorkel i have cut half of the OEM plastic air diversion (the plastic piece which directs air to the radiator). I have also bought a cooling plate to cover all this area now that i will remove the snorkel. My question....

1) Do i have to remove this plastic air diversion bit or i still need it even if i will have the cooling plate and i have to replace it with a new one too?
2) Instead of the comptech filter (owner lost it)i received with the kit an AFE filter which looks like the KN filter. Is the comptech filter really worth it to buy it new or this AFE filter does the work also?

I will apreciate any help

Chris

with the cooling plate you really dont need that plastic piece in front of the radiator anymore

i don't think the comptech filter is necessary. if you're going to run a cooling plate with the duct, i'd suggest just ditching the airbox and comptech intake and just running a filter on the front of the blower. the spoon duct you installed will direct air right to it.

Thank you for you reply. I am not going to run the airduct with the cooling plate. The cooling plate is just a carbon piece that covers all the area without having an opening on the top at all.
I thought about running the filter in front of the blower and buying a AUT cooling plate but i doubt the filter fits in front of the blower having a Koyo radiator and keeping the OEM fans too

with koyo rad and oem fans i doubt it. because even with stock radiator and oem fans, the front of most mushroom filters is 1mm away from the fan shroud
