Default Question on refilling aftercooler

I'm finally piecing my car back together and I'm about to refill my aftercooler.

I just installed a larger heat exchanger and a Bosch pump.

I remember reading in the SOS instructions about turning the key on to cycle the coolant/water through the system.

I recently moved and cannot find my instructions and just want to make sure it's done properly. Thanks in advance.

Run it with the fill cap off until the bubbles smooth out

Make sure you don't run the pump dry for too long. You'll hear louder than usual wine then it goes away, on and off, that means air and/or not enough fluid. Make sure it's a steady sound otherwise you'll fry your pump if you let it do that for extended period of time.

when I reinstall the aftercooler I have a rubber cork with a hole in it I put it on my air gun then give it a small burst of air that pushes the coolant down removing the air bubbles in the pump/heat exchanger I do this before I turn the pump on it always works

Just a heads up in case you run into this problem like I did. Sometimes you can have a stubborn air pocket trapped at the pump preventing the water from circulating. If this happens, simply unbolt the pump from the mounting location and place/move it so it's lower than the heat-exchanger bottom inlet. Turn on the pump as you're doing this and gravity will feed water to the pump inlet and start the flow going.

I once replaced the pump and couldn't for the life of me get the system to circulate. Tried blowing into aftercooler inlet, squeezing hoses, nothing worked. I thought the pump was bad at one point, but it was just an air pocket.
