Air Pump Question

has anyone had problems after installing an aftermarket bumper (or opening the faux vents on an OEM) with thier airpump?

just wondering if i should think about a rain/muck shield...

I'd want to keep the pump out of any water to protect the electrical connectors and relay by the pump from corrosion.
