Thumbs up Question for you High HP guys

Hey guys, when I get my setup done (taking forever) I am concerned about 500-600RWP and the handling of the S.

For example the Viper has 345's in the rear, I have 255's.......

DO you guys find that your car is ALL OVER the road when you go WOT from a roll (summer weather)

AT what piont is the HP not really usable?

experiences please

depends how fast and what gear. In dead summer with 590whp the car hooks in 3rd gear with 255 rear summer tires. it would spin 1st and second though. Even when it spins its controlable. Its not like its all over the place. as long as you are aimed straight its not going to be dangerous with a little tire spin.

In the winter the car will spin 4th no problem sometimes 5th.

When i was low 500s i hooked really well.

You have to realize a viper and other domestic cars make gobs of torque. Thats where your wheel spin comes from for the most part. Our engines dont really put out much torque so it actually works out great for traction.

Really depends on your tire choice IMO. You have re-01rs right?

My build wasn't done in time to enjoy super warm weather, but I was able to get some pulls in 60 degree temps. When in high boost (490rwhp) second gear was an absolute mess and unusable. Third gear was squirly but I had control over the car and was completely contained.

Now that it's cold - it's like driving on ice. Got a little out of control this past weekend when I encountered a porsche 4S that wanted to play, needless to say driving a turbo S with summer tires in this weather is just plain retarded.

I run Azenis 255's in the back.. and would eventually like to get something that will stick better once I have the diff to support it

^ Ok, good seems like it's manageable then. Yea as I am getting closer to this ting being done I am panicking about going through all of this, to spin, lose control and smack into the wall or worse

I guess the fear/respect I have will be a good thing.....

MADjdm,

Yea I have the Re-01r's they seem like a good tire.

I plan on running 12lbs or less in 1st and 2nd and then up the boost in gears 3 and above

Done via EMS & boost via MPH or whatever its called

I would consider 265's in the back but I dont think it would fit (or look right)

While they will bulge a little bit, they'll fit nicely on an AP2 Rear.

Stay clear of puddles and days with heavy rain
