I fisrt experienced this after upgrading to V2.13. After going back to 2.12 the problem went away for a while and then came back.

I had my injectors cleaned/serviced which did not fix the problem. I finally went with larger injectors and the random misfire only happened once right after topping off the fuel. Down to 3/4 tank and it has not happened again.

I suspect coil packs may be weak or my fuel pump is struggling and I am getting an occasional pending DTC for secondary air (possible leak somewhere).

In my troubleshooting I could not get the problem to occur unless I was well into boost (went back to NA to test the problem with and without the eManage in the loop).
Hi

Thanks for that, i was under the impression it had something to do with the throttle settings, but since reading this thread it could be firmware 2.13.

Do you think fw: 2.13 is the culprit?

Thanks

I have not gone back to 2.13 yet - still not sure the problem is completely gone yet.

One of the members in Atlanta installed a custom turbo kit on his S and was having random misfires.

His turbo is spooling at TPSs around 20-25% much like the greddy turbo.

I had him send his boomslang back to have it rewired so the analog output was putting out the TPS voltage to the ECU instead of just having the ULT wire just tag the TPS.
This is so I can tune the quick tip in ;trick the stock computer into open loop sooner just like greddy does when he finaly makes it over for a full tune.

This has solved his misfire issue for some strange reason even though the TPS is still currently set as pass through (voltage in = voltage out)

There has been issues with STIs where a piggy back when tagged to the TPS voltage line was causing the car to run rough and misfire randomly. There was no CEL for TPS and reading the TPS voltage everything looks fine however when wired like above all problems went away.

This random miss fire truly seems to be random however seems more frequent with version 2.13

My misfire only happens in open-loop

ULT Version 2.16 available

ULT Version 2.16

Is it possible for some reason that an improper I/J siginal was causing the stock computer to see random missfires if that is the case then this may be a fix.
I / J exchange set when the input of the injection timing and injection before the next I / J-injection and all it had to correct defects.

I set parameters / J in the early hours of injection invalid value "0" to change.< <what ever that means

Changes translated by Google so its a little broken english.
