I see this on some of the EMS cars that I tune. When you key the ignition "on" one of the coils will typically discharge and fire, and its not consistent on which coil it is (I have tried to pinpoint it). It does this before "sync" is actually established. Same goes with the injector, one of them gets fired and discharges the little amount of fuel pressure left in the fuel rail before the pump primes. Its the combination of the small amount of injected fuel that vaporizes immediately and the coil firing to create the backfire. There isnt a way to stop this condition from happening that I am aware of.

How many people are having this specific issue with ID injectors?
interesting. Its good to hear this from a reputable tuner. Thank you for your input!

I have ID1000's and i have had this happen also but only in the mornings after it has sat over night once in awhile. I have been trying to figure it out what it was as well. It didn't happen in the beginning but seems like its been happening more after my turbo timer install and the car sits and idles for a few minutes in the garage shuts off and i go to start it up the next morning. I have stock fuel rail, walboro pump, and water meth injection kit. i know the compressor wheels still spins for a few seconds after the car shuts off maybe it built a small amount of pressure in the motor and the injectors emit a small amount of vapor when the key is turned on it ignites? I sometimes get the foomp or the loud pop.

interesting, Im SC'd and it still happens...

Perhaps if I kill the fuel pump right when Im about to turn the car off.... Letting the fuel rail drain a bit. Just a thought

^^I doubt that will help since as soon as you turn the key back on, the fuel pumps will prime that fuel right back into the rail.

Now watch, since this thread came out, I'll start having this happen. LOL

To my understanding it could because by a couple things. Leaking injector into the combustion chamber. with valves open. upon cold start or just warm start the popping noise occurs because the management system fires a coil. I get this about once a or twice a week. It sometime catches me off guard. Most of the time it fires into the intake manifold. weird shit if you ask me.

Never had this problem......Are all you running the 1052u? I have the same EMS and its probably 5-6 years old now.

Ive never heard of this problem, it doesnt seem to be a sytem running issue, all of you seem to have different setups i;e turbo, motor builds, injectors.
Does anyone run aftermarket coilpack (okada, aem) and have this problem?? Or is everyone running stock coilpacks?
