rear evap removal help
Since my S2000 is a track car only I removed the canister and pulled the 2 venting hoses up to the top... From there you can pretty much do whatever you like. Vent to the side or to the back.




well, now that iv had time to test this out id like to add a few things. With the top up and windows up, you CANNOT smell any fuel inside of the car with the way i have it setup. With the top down, you do get a bit of smell on decel. My guess is the wind swirls around somehow and pulls the fumes in the cabin area at speed. Im pretty happy with it so far, i dont drive the car very offen with the top up and before the smell was to the point where it was pretty unsafe. Now with the top up it smells like a stock S.

I just took my evap system out as well. I found out a couple things.
The water drain really does nothing, and goes nowhere, when unhooked from the evap component. It literally dumps upward into the frame of the car, where there is another hole to let air/water in or out. The hose just hooks to a plastic fitting that is only about 3" long.
Also I don't think the large hose vents the tank at all. I haven't tested it with a lot of pressure, but I am pretty sure there is a check valve of some sort to only let air IN.
The small line is the venting line. It vents ALL the time (when evap system is taken off). I do not know how the factory system relieves pressure while never running, or if that is even an issue.
I was thinking about running the small hose into the metal evap line that goes to the engine bay, and venting it up there. I'm not sure yet, as I think the fumes would be pretty noticable. A low pressure check valve I think would help most of the time with the fumes.

you must not be 06+. the large line on my car definately is the vent. i dont think my car has 2 lines, just the one.
and to update my previous posts. i figure out how to remove the second sensor from the evap canister because jumping the wire would throw a code after a week or so after resetting it. so far with both sensors hooked up with no canister everything is going good

You are correct. I forgot to mention the year of the car (post updated).
And the checkvalve in the engine bay is how I used to have it setup in my civic. I don't recall ever really smelling fumes in the cabin, or much in the bay for that matter. Venting it somewhere on the underside of the car is a option I'll look into as well.
