stock diffs should be able to handle that power no problem. stop slamming gears? my $.02

ummmmmm.....no
2 years. 345/245 on a jet. 7k miles hard driving and my diff is fine. If ur breaking it at 350whp ur driving wrong.

I had 420whp (more on US dynos) on stock clutch and stock diff on a body that had 65000 miles, with 15,000 of those miles boosted.
I've never busted an axle, diff, box, shaft etc, ever in the 5+ yrs of ownership.

There's something you're doing wrong, that the rest of us, aren't.

It took about 15-20k of boost to kill my rear diff. I am making 370whp and it took a dump a month ago. I ended up going with a puddymod stage 3 diff, which is 2460 - core credit. If you are on a budget, have him build you an AP2 stage 2, he guarantees it for 350whp for 1560 - core credit. Just a thought.

stock?
x2.

If you're busting stock differentials left and right with 350whp, then your driving is probably the issue.
The poster is effectively doubling the power through the stock diff which can break with enough hard use on a stock car. He didnt mention the tq he's making but that would have a greater effect. Maybe you've never "really" driven your s2000 at all - that could be your particular issue.

Read up on the puddy mod offerings or consider contacting quaife for one of there diffs and having the housing reinforced. Also with gear type diffs you want to stay off the curbing at tracks generally if you can.

Maybe I've hardly ever really driven either. I have a turbo S producing 450hpatw and I've only been through one diff.

I do however know how a diff works, and breaks. It's the crown wheel and pinion that fail when the housing deforms. So there is nothing Quaife can sell you that will help. They only do the centre and that ain't the problem.

My advice is have Puddy reinforce a diff to your specifications.

i thought we all deduced that more power=more slippage in the system which reduces shock since the tires don't even have enough grip to transfer the load elsewhere? i say consult with puddymod as he seems to do excellent work with a long track record of reliable performance.

I have 390wtq and never broken a differential. Its only triple the stock torque. Maybe you need to not post on topics that you have no experience with. Others have more torque and no f@#king issues.

The misinformation spread on this forum is ridiculous.

What a horrible and vague argument. Since he's doubling the horsepower, he might as well tear the engine down and rebuild it too with your train of thought.
