Recently installed Modifrys ECT fix
I had this installed a week or so ago, and it seemed to be working fine. Startup showed me with 1 bar, followed by 2 bars after a few minutes of warm-up, then 3 bars during driving w/ occasional 4-5 bars at stop lights and in traffic.
Then a few days back I got to 6 bars! I was sitting in stop n go on the highway when this happened. I pulled off, turned her off, and looked under the hood. Nothing was steaming or boiling. When I turned it back on just a couple minutes later it was back to 3 bars.
Last night I was on the highway and it started going from 3 to 4 then to 5, then I exited the highway and at the stoplight it went 6 bars then to the red square! I pull over and the car seems fine. No steam, no boiling coolant.
I just added a bottle of Redline Water Wetter to my Koyo Radiator. I also have a low temp thermostat and on my EMS my fans are set to come on at 190. What gives? Shouldn't my car be on fire if it is as hot as the gauge says it is? I have done some searching on the site here and I've seen one faulty module, but not many people with big problems. Any solutions? I had thought I ahd done enough cooling stuff to get the car running well. Also, I wasn't even driving hard when the most extreme temp readings occurred.
Thanks

This is the link to the temp page of Modifry. It shows that I was at least 235 degrees if the unit is working proplerly.

I have this installed as well, but I'm AP2 and we have different gauges.
I also have the *exact same* setup with the Koyo, EMS fan settings, etc. and have never seen my gauge get above the 210 mark.

I would get in touch with Bob and see what he says. I know the stock AP1 gauge has a ton of averaging in it and with only six bars, there still has to be plenty in there.
