Removing secondary air system
Remove #3, and #2. all the hoses and check valve in between. Don't attach any vacuum line to #17 if you are leaving it on the manifold.
You must make a block off plate to go over the hole in the intake manifold when removing #17. Trace the gasket on some piece of aluminium or steel and cut it out.
The only thing you are doing by removing #17 is reducing weight, as the valve is no longer operational.

The system is quite complicated. It's easier to leave it on than build a simulator for the system.
You'd have to figure out how to simulate a electric motor and is current draw, and fake out the 02 sensor inputs that indicate air injected into the exhaust ports.

Slows2k I know you will kill me for this question, but:
Can I leave the mushroom in place with both of the hoses (thin vacuum hose and thick air-pump hose) just plain open or does it leak anything since it does not even work anymore? (does is remain shut or open anyway?) Because that's what I am running right now. Both hoses are disconnected and open on one side, runing the other end into the mushroom just as it was stock. The airpump was removed so the airpump hose is open and ending in the bumper, the vacuum line was disconnected and is open as well...Can I keep it as it is?
