Removing Volute Housing from Vortech V2
Hello all,
I'm working on cleaning up an old Vortech V2 kit and installing it on my car. I'd like to get the housing + aftercooler polished up (they have a lot of scratches on them), and everyone I talk to says the front compressor housing has to be removed for them to do it. Are there any instructions out there to do this? Can it be done simply, or would removing it expose the bearing? Also, if it was easy to remove does anyone know the torque specs once it's reattached?
Any advice you guys could give me would be great.

Ah. They won't do it with the unit as one piece. They specifically want the volute removed in order to polish it.
Guess I'm stuck trying to do it myself with elbow grease. Might take awhile lol.
To be clear (just in case) they mean this specific piece:

Well it was polished from the factory already. I just want it touched up because the volute looks abused. I'll try to find another place to see if someone will take it. I'm just scared they'll get polish all inside the supercharger...
Very easy to do when you have the blower off. It's just allen bolts that hold it attached to the gear case. Put it back together an a criss-cross pattern and snug them down until it feels "right", lol. Not a whole lot of tq at all...
