replacing clutch with blower
me and a couple of my buddies who have a lot more knowledge under the hood then I are planning on doing a clutch job this weekend. I know many people who have superchargers were able to replace the clutch without having to take off the blower via tilting the engine back verses lowering the entire engine. I was wondering what steps were different in the install when going this route. I would assume that a lot of the steps that needed to be done before getting under the car wouldn't be needed as you wouldn't be able to access them with the blower in the way.
You'll need to pull the aftercooler, the SC can stay. It will be resting on the cross member when you lower the subframe. Take the drive belt tensioner out and you'll have 3X the room to get the top starter bolt out.
Did you mean if I don't take out the knock sensor out I will most likely crack it? Could I also get a picture or something of the location of the knock sensor just to make sure I don't forget it?
Thanks for the help
EDIT: I am guessing the main difference between the regular method and tilt method is in the tilt method you just undo the back and middle bolts in the subframe enough for the engine to tilt, not the front ones.
