Default Replacing the Pistons

Can you unbolt the rods from under neath the car? I have been thinking about replacing the pistons and rings and that would make it much easier.

yeah, rod bolts install from bottom so yeah you def can unbolt them from underneath and then pull piston and rod up from above.

this just eliminates removing the crank to do the piston swap. you still pull the head and clearence the rings from above

This in the car stuff sounds like a PITA. Taking the motor out also sounds like a pita. We are both screwed.

Why not just drive around with the leaky headgasket for the remainder of the summer , seems like you only noticed cause you looked for it

My car has been getting slower as the head gasket has been degrading. I'd rather fix it before it becomes a major failure (engine boom!)
Scott on the other hand just enjoys working on his car more than driving it.

^ I see, that makes sense. I am going to just have to bite the bullet and get a leakdown test done
