Default Replacing the starter

Hi, I need my starter replaced and im planning to do it myself. Does any body know how to and would the pipe connected to the TB need to be out??? Thanks!

Yes. Remove the charge pipe.

just undo the clamps and pull out the pipe. and you dont need to take off the SC. just remove the bolt that holds it to the alternator and remove the bracket. then you should be able to do what you gotta do.

Removing charge pipe would only take a minute. Do it so you have less complication.

So I guess doing from the bottom to the top would be harder?

Issue is the CTSCer bracket (assuming you have a Comptech from your handle) uses the alternator top bolt for a bracket attachment point on the driver side.

The easiest way to replace the starter is to remove the alternator first. Be very careful when removing the upper starter bolt with a u-joint as it is easy to break the knock sensor.
