Default researching engine management for turbo

i am under the impression that the aem is by far one of the most tuneable engine management computers available for our cars. unfortunately, id like to keep the obdII functionality of the stock ecu, i know the greddy computer is obdII compliant, but what would i be losing by going with the greddy instead of the aem? also, i found a kit that was released for the nsx's that is obdII compliant, using a msl modified aem computer, anything like that yet for the s?

do you want to keep the OBDII because of emissions? if so you might want to check with your state. in CO you do not fail soley on your OBDII feedback, if the computer does not get a reading, you can still pass as long as the smog passes...

yeah i want to keep the obdII cause of emissions, in jersey if they cant hook up to it for inspection, its an automatic fail, and id rather not swap things in and out just for the inspection.

I used Greddy eManage before with my SC Setup. I regret it since the day I bought it so I went with EMS. There is no way to compare both. Def. get the AEM.

Think of AEM as an investment. Whenever you want to sell it, you can always sell it for $300 less of what you paid for.

Very wise advice. My entire turbo experience is costing me very little out of my pocket because I had a lot of parts to sell. J's header, T1R 70mm, VAFC2, 4.77 gears with CT diff - the money I'm getting from all these is just barely under what I paid for them. I'm talking about only a 4 or 5 hundred dollar difference.

Invest in good used parts that people want and you don't lose much at all, if any.

Are you sure about that? I thought the MSL-modded EMS, or any EMS for that matter, would NOT be OBDII compliant...as far as I've read into it, the MSL-modded EMS was specifically designed to work on the later model NSXs with drive-by-wire...this is the same system that Autowave started using on 2006-up S2000s with drive-by-wire...

The MSL's have a constant check engine code read out. You wont be able to pass with it either. It's only meant to solve the DBW.

ah, i guess i misread it, i assumed that with one msl for the nsx's with obdI and another for obdII that they overcame that limitation.
