Results from Another Turbo S2000
i prefer a re71 to a r888r. the r888r will take far more to get heat in them. the re71 also has a bit more grip level than the toyo. the toyo will last longer though. to put in perspective on a 2mile rod course a re71 is fully upto temp halfway through my out lap. the nto1(basically same compound as r888) the outlap tires arent up to temp till the end of the 1st hot lap, as in it takes a solid 4miles+ of extreme abuse to get them heated enough to maintain maximum grip levels (which still barely fall short of the re71) the major difference is the re71 will start greasing up and get over heated by the 2rd lap, really you only get a couple fast laps before they are done and need to be cooled off, the nt01/r888 take a few laps to really shine but you can beat the hell out of them for 45 minutes and they dont care. that said you will never put that kind of abuse on the tires on the street. my recommendation for a grippy street tire is 100% the re71
im running stupid aggressive spec'd wheels/tires for my car since its primarily a time attack car

Thanks! We're about 83% duty cycle on the injectors. Pressure is a bit low but more than enough for this setup. Neither of us were too confident in going over 18psig on pump gas, even if it is 93oct. EDIT: Forgot to confirm ECU is an AEM v2
Wow, 3600? That's the lowest I've heard. I'll have to look around and see what other's are running. I had thought I recalled most being around 4,000-4,500.
I'm using the louvers from Singular Motorsports. After talking with them, they had done some pretty cool testing on their setup to confirm airflow.
Excited to see the numbers differences as well. I've considered a new turbo since this one is definitely slow to spool and definitely bigger than I had original intended to run (GTX3076R), so really would like to see the overlay graphs of the ball bearing vs journal bearing and maybe just swap out the CHRA.

I'll check out those hood vents, thanks.
Yep, trust me.... I've been in this game since 2003 and ever since I swapped to a high flowing manifold back in 2005 and went away from the log, around 3600 rpm for VTEC switchover has been the sweet spot and I've used very high profile tuners. You don't want to go lower than I think 3400, since oil pressure may not be adequate.
I'll check out those hood vents, thanks.

Seems the general consensus for starting points is provided by @s2knoob89 : Tubular manifolds like vtec set around 4k and log manifolds like vtec between 5-7k
