Just get ready to spend more than that all said and done. It is amazing how little stuff adds up over time.

Ask me how I know

Yeah as an example, I bought my kit for $x dollars, and lets say you just find an old Comptech with no engine management. I went the cheap route and did Emanage and harness for $700. Then when the clutch slipped and I did not want to do it myself, $2k after having the dealer install and Act kit. Now I want to upgrade my engine management, $2k more for a Haltech and full tune. I spent several hundred on nifty digital guages with an LCD screen. Felt like a new race radiator for a couple hundred to keep temps down. Injectors were a few hundred. A couple hundred for a Walbro. Decided to upgrade to a new blower last year for a couple grand.

A few thousand dollar kit can become $10k pretty easy if you want everything including exhaust and header, and engine management.

If you want a little faster and find an off the shelf Comptech/Vortech/SOS kit for a few thousand you can keep the price down. But once you up the boost beyond the stock low boost kits, you need real money. In my opinion, a good condition stock clutch can hold low boost SC torque for a long time if you drive like a sane person. But if you want over 300-325 hp you will start to need things.

A car that comes from the factory with a turbo like a WRX or something is much cheaper to modify and make fast than a small displacement NA car. If you can afford it, go for it. We all have, but be realistic about hidden costs. Deal do pop up once on the board.

I live in the u.k. and a brand new rotrex supercharger with all parts needed apart from ecu is £4700 which is about $7000

I'm gonna buy an ecu First and keep searching for a s.c. on here second hand .

If you guys know of anyone selling one please let me know.

I assume you check out the local UK forum section on here, I've seen older TTS kits pop up for sale in that section. If you're in no big rush then maybe peruse that or put a feeler thread out in case someone is thinking about selling...or start saving for a brand new kit
