Default S/C and stock exhaust?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if you had a Supercharger would you have to have an exhaust system?

Would it be ok if you had the stock resonator removed?

I have looked in removing resonator threads but can't seem to find anything that i wanted to know.

Thanks

it's fine. the comptech and vortech kits were made to be 100% bolt on, although you are REALLY limiting your potential by not freeing up the exhaust flow.

The Vortech will run lean if you swap out the exhaust. Not dangerously lean but it will be lean. This is on stock FMU and black box of course.

I've read someowhere on this site that the stock exhaust is good till you go over 400whp. I'm around 360whp or so and it doesn't seem like i'm getting any restrictions at all with the stock header and exhaust....

why are we banging our heads over stock exhausts?

i've seen many turbocharged and supercharged setups in excess of 400whp on a stock catback.

it is going to be a limiting factor on any kind of setup, but not so much on a s/c car. if you dont want to use an aftermarket exhaust you dont have to. if you do decide to step it up and you get tuned for the difference in flow you will make more power, but not tons!

happy boosting.
