you should just read up and do some research this topic has been covered 100s of times... its all in the tune. if you get a 3mm ilp hg and arp head studs there have been people that have gotten 700+ out of their set ups and there have been people to get 400 on a stock motor. im shooting for 330 on my stock motor because that is what my goals are.

only advice is to make you have at least 2000 for tuning and misc bs that can happen. i forget who said this but they said have 4000 for the kit and another 4000 for tuning and misc stuff to be safe. you'll need to upgrade your clutch and pp, diff, and other stuff if your trying to push some serious power.

You don't need a 3mm HG or ARP head studs to make 700+ on the stock block. I think both of you should revisit the FAQ and member power chart

Never really looked into making over 400+ but from what i've read you need to lower your compression to get that much power out of our cars safely. All the people i've talked to that make gobs of power run 3mm head gaskets and a lot of people that throw pistons into their motors to lower the compression end up running the stock hg. I guess the 3mm hg is a cheaper way to lower your compression, but i havent found someone running on a completely stock motor making 700+ hp and hasn't blown it up within a couple of weeks...

You need to visit the power list in the stickies. I believe there are 2 s2ks listed there that made over 700hp

Great manifold design+correctley matched turbo+great tuner+right fuel= safe high horsepower build
The easier air can flow the less heat and more power can be made with the right fuel(e85,100 octane, q/c16, or water meth)
