to be honest i am not sure what caused it! ... I just though that could of been one of things that caused it, well ill never no know.

hopefully i get enough back from insurance where i can get another one!

i have been running it for about 6 or 7 months now and its ran great!

me and my friend did the install but Greg from Drivers image checked it all over for me and did the tuning and stuff! i check the fluid and the oil once or twice every 2 weeks and the vacuum hoses.

Sorry to see this happen! Especially to a fellow Illonois person. Glad your going to get another car and everyone was safe. I guess its time to get an extinguisher myself.

I keep a smaller one in front of the drivers seat for quick access.

I have been debating on using a built in system and plumbing it in the cabin and under the hood.

Sorry to hear, like many others have said, the most likley cause was an oil leak.

I have taken lots of time to fill in the holes where the tuner kits have not been complete. One of these was relocate and protect all the things that could burn which included heat resistant sleaves, a turbo blanket and heat sheilds.

My next stetup with have Advanced Thermal Products inconel heat sheilds on everything. (Search for Sareks build for details)

wow, sorry to see that s in flames. This is exactly why most every time I drive my car I start it and check for leaks etc. You never know when something is going to leak/malfunction. Also, using the DEI firewrap on anything within 12" of any turbo component is a good idea.

yea I ordered a whole bunch of that DEI Firewrap, looks like black rubbery tube, inexpensive too............

They have the Fire "wrap", and the fire "Sleeve"

Not sure what the differance is but I got the Sleeves
