If you're buying new, I would recommend the Science of Speed kit. If you're buying used, Comptech or Vortech are pretty much the same, in terms of power.

New kit ~$5000+
Used kit ~$3000

A kit will get you ~300whp at 6psi.

Get an AEM EMS and get it tuned ~$1900
High boost pulley ~$100
Injectors ~$300
Wideband for tuning ~$200

Running high boost, you will want either an aftercooler kit (unless your SC kit includes it) or a front mount intercooler set up. ~$1000, cheaper used

Theres going to be a lot of other smaller things that you'll need to replace along the way, but that is the basics of what you'll need. Not sure what the total would be, but for 400whp, expect to spend at least ~$7000.

Get a used kit ~$3000, slap it on, and have some fun. When you get used to the power, spend another ~$3000 for the tune/EMS and run high boost (12-14psi) and you'll have close to 400whp. That's my plan anyway. Just had my Comptech kit installed, loving it, but I have a goal of 400whp.

Also, you can free up a lot of power by running an aftermarket header, hi flow cat, and exhaust. So that's another $1200+, at least. Twice that if you want JDM parts.

The stock motor should be fine unless you have some SERIOUS power goals. The stock motor is very stout and will produce great power, BUT tuning is everything! Just be sure if your planning on running high boost you have the supporting mods, ie. Fuel pump, injectors, good engine management, free flowing exhaust, ect.

SoS Stage 2 with K-Pro/FlashPro gets my vote, but all the kits on the market work well.

Just spend a good entire day reading on the forums. You will find a lot of information upon peoples build threads.

I'm not saying it's better (that's a whole thread by itself), it's just what I have more experience tuning, and the interface is much more user friendly.

What year is your car?
