S/C is linear to gas pedal but YES-it will scream and pull even harder in VTEC.
Aaaahhh-good memories...S/Ced B16 and turbod B20...such a happy place-

{Repeat after me...you will not boost the S, you will not boost the S}
For sure! There is a noticable increase in power below 6k, but when the more aggressive cam profiles switch in there is an impressive jump in output and acceleration. (... and a good launch keeps the engine above 6k for the duration.)

If you hate to spend the money on the car just do what I did, and ask for a supercharger for Christmas. LOL, it worked for me.

Accelerate modestly to 6k to 6.5k, in second gear, then hold that speed for a few seconds. Then when everything ahead is clear and it is safe to blast off, nail the throttle sharply. Since you're already in VTEC and have some boost the learch forward tends to impress most, so give it a try and tell us what you think.

is traction non-existent in 1st gear or do the tires stay hooked?

i would imagine that since the sc isnt giving you much low end that if you just rolled off first and then hit it, you would have a traction prob at all.

Assuming OEM tires, it depends on the launch and the traction surface. Given a casual launch the back tires do not normally spin below 6k, and unless the traction surface is degraded a little there isn't enough tire slip to worry about even when charging all the way to redline. However, if you drop the clutch with enough revs to break the tires lose, and nail the throttle as you drop the clutch, the engine will rev right to the limiter as the tires go up in smoke. You have to modulate the throttle after dropping the clutch, and as long as you keep the revs above 6k the tires will not stop spinning until you clutch in to shift into second. The quickest launch breaks the tires lose instantly and then spins them just enough to keep the car in VTEC all the way through first gear. In daily driving there is no problem getting traction, but it is just as easy to smoke the tires. It is all in the way you launch the car.

Hard acceleration in first, on a wet road, results in wheelspin starting at 6k. If you are careful the car just wags its tail a little but it's not something that I'd suggest doing anywhere other than on a closed circuit.

When cornering at above 6k in first or second gear it is almost always possible to spin the tires by simply nailing the throttle. The car isn't threatening, but it has enough power to get you in trouble if you get careless.

After a 40min drive freeway in 70+ degrees I got to the dyno place and busted out a...............

276rwhp and 168 rwtq! I have a really nice mid range though.

when I was full bolt on N/A I dynoed on this machine 198 and 134 tq.

NON SAE was showing me close to 300. But I use SAE for my figures,

4th gear got me more HP than 3rd. Yes I do have "stock" boost 5.5 .

oh and for those who say it doesn't do much under 6k the SC. Well i got an average gain of 20rwhp and in some cases 35 under 6k.

my VTEC point hit .200 quicker and from 5.5K to 6 I gained 50 rwhp and then she jsut wnet way up after that, man need to scan this I luv my SC!
