Default SC Boost Leak: Front compressor cover

Ok, so Im performing a boost leak test on an sos kit. I made an adapter to fit onto the air inlet of the supercharger.

The first big leak was a loose t-bolt clamp. The second was from the secondary air valve. After relocating the air pump outlet hose to the intake pipe, i thought i was in the clear.

I didnt get a leak at the valve anymore, but at 5psi or so im getting a big leak behind the supercharger front cover. Ive had it apart before and there is no seal in between the two aluminum pieces. Wth? I doubt its supposed to be like this and its a pain removing everything to access it. Does anyone have any insight or experience with this? I thought i remember seeing seals for sale for the cover at one time.

I just had mine off for powdercoating. My n1200 engine oil feed had a large oring behind the compressor cover. It was red in color.

You should have one too!

Yup, youre right! Its definately not there and a shop here confirmed the need for that large o ring.

Was that the same for the novi1000 as well? I dont remember seeing a seal on that one which is why i suspected the 1200 didnt come with one.

Lol, they still come my way. Ive never had a new one, but the many ive seen in person have never had seal?

Its crazy to think im only now doing a boost leak test after all these years, especially since i was turbo before the s2000 came along.

The o ring did fix it! Im up to 10 psi or so, and then im hearing a faint vibration from the intake manifold. Hmm...

Can one of you please post a picture of what you are talking about. I'm trying to find a leak but I'm not very technical. Thanks!

Found the picture...now irrelevant... Again this is a Novi 1000

The seal is a LARGE thin o-ring that goes around the out mounting area between the sc unit and compressor cover.
