Default SC-Losing boost because of heat?

Sorry if this is a dumb question fellas.

I'm running a ctsc. With each pass the aem unit is reading less boost. Each pass we make while tuning the vehicle reads about 1lb lower.
First pass hits 9s second pass hits 8s third 7s and so on until it hits 6s. After a cooldown the car hits 9lbs again. Kind of confused as to what is causing it. Is the unit starting to fail? Could the belts be slipping because of the heat? Any advice would be awesome.

water cooled intercooler. Water retains a lot of heat. Your heatsoaking. Simple as that.

I didn't know heat could lower the boost. My tuner seemed pretty shocked by it as well. Thanks again guys.

Negative on the heat soak causing that kind of a decrease in boost levels. This is not the same principal as many of us see when you go out on a cold winter night and boost versus what happens in the dead of summer. Your belt is more likely to be slipped as the engine bay heats up more and more with each pass.

This is a supercharger...it's on a pulley tied to the motor. Assuming no slippage, there's no reason your boost should be inconsistent. That's one of the few advantages to being supercharged. We have dead consistent boost levels...no spikes, no drops... Yes, the air is less dense as it heats up, causing you to make less power, but a 30% drop in boost is not cause but heat soaking. Something is up with either the gauge or the belt/pulley.

Good luck!

Thanks courage, you seem to confirm what I had thought. I'll start to look at slipping threads

I have noticed I see a slight drop of about .75psi during the summer. But I live in upper east tennessee and it gets mighty humid in the summer.
