When you increase the stroke, you are lowering the cars potential to rev high, which would be bad for a centrifugal supercharger (where boost is dependent on the cars' rpm). It's not necessarily bad, but I think your money would best be spent elsewhere.

Wouldn't a smaller pulley compensate for the lower redline? as long as you dont end up with like a 2" pulley where you'll have no belt grip

What about 2.5 with ITB's. That would be a nice combo.
some guy did that combination already on his S. He running a built 2.5 stroker kit and he got it tune on VAFC I believe. The car just with a stroker alone is putting down 24xwhp/186lbs. The mid range on the stroker kit is just plain out dirty, now he has itb's and with a EMS system I think he should be around high 290 whp range and above 200lbs of torque. 2.5 kit + itb combo will destory a s/c set up running 5-10lbs of boost, with 4.57 or 4.77 gears.

I think a turbo kit will be a better choice if you were to stroke the motor. It will produce more power with very min lag. SC is great if you want the reliability and up the power moderately.

I've done both but not ofn the S, on a Mustang. It will work. It's all how much time and money you want to put into it.
