Are you happy with the way your SOS SC sounds? The few cars I have seen on Youtube seem to have a rattling sound at idle coming from the blower. Is this common in the Novi 1200/1220 blowers? Can you hear a "hissing" as the boost builds through the revs?

pretty sure they are noisy at idle, and you should be able to hear the boost build. you can make sure all your clamps are tight if you think you have a boost leak.

 

buy a turbo if you want the sound... SC whines

 

I just picked up my S with an SOS supercharger. I can't really hear much from the supercharger but I can say I got pulled over randomly at a DUI check point and a cop asked what I had under the hood because he could hear the supercharger whine as I pulled forward. I have heard that SOS doesn't make as much noise as vortech though.

 

Get a vented hood if you want to hear it more. I have one and love it.

 

I was looking at what you have done to your car and you're running a stage 1 kit right?

 

I don't know what stage it would be considered, but I have the novi 1000 with a 4.25" pulley. Approx 6psi. Currently being e-tuned by Evan's. Nothing but great things to say.

 

a N1200 with a 3.0" pulley whines all the time even at idle. I see people turn there heads even if Im only going 20mph.

 

I love the way mine sounds. Ive noticed it whistles the loudest at around 1500rpm. As for the hissing while building boost its there but no where near as loud as a turbo.
I also have an atmosphere vented bypass valve so when im cruising not in the throttle I can hear the whistle pretty loud.
